The last few weeks have seen some important and exciting news for students looking to fund a Masters in the UK. First the government announced a new system of postgraduate loans, commencing in 2016. Now a further £50million has also been made available to fund Masters courses in the forthcoming 2015 academic year. This money is being provided as part of a new Postgraduate Support Scheme offering £10,000 bursaries to current undergraduate students who would not otherwise be able to continue on to Masters study. 10,000 Bursaries of £10,000 = 10,000 Free Masters Places for Students in 2015! The 2015 Postgraduate Support Scheme (PSS) funding will be available at all universities in England and - unlike the forthcoming student loans system - none of this money needs to be repaid when you graduate! As usual, we've pulled together all the information about this PSS funding into a simple guide covering the eligibility criteria for the bursaries, the types of study they cover and their availability at different universities. You can also find out more about the new PSS 2015 bursaries by visiting the Postgraduate Study Fair, Birmingham on the 28th of January. As well as a packed talks programme (including an explanation of the new funding opportunities), the event will give you the chance to speak to university representatives about Masters opportunities at universities across the UK and beyond!
