The Centre for Digital Entertainment creates innovative funded research projects in the Computer Games, Visual Effects and Animation industries. We embed doctoral researchers into industry to work on R&D projects that will give companies competitive edge. We work with multi-nationals and new start-ups; platinum brands such as Disney, Double Negative, BBC, EA Games and Crytek and innovative companies such as Wonky Films, 4T2 and ROLI Labs. Fully supported by academic and company supervisors, you will perform leading edge research. This exciting and unusual doctoral programme gives you a flying start in your chosen career. The Centre for Digital Entertainment (CDE) is an EPSRC funded Centre for Doctoral Training between the University of Bath and Bournemouth University. You will spend one year of preparation and training at Bath or Bournemouth University. This is followed by three years in a company. Applicants should hold at least an upper second (2.1) undergraduate or a master degree in a relevant subject, such as Computer Science, Maths, Physics, engineering or Software Engineering. An ideal candidate should have a strong background in mathematics and be competent in computer programming. Knowledge and experience in computer graphics, computer vision or imaging are desirable. You must be a citizen of the UK/European Union or have indefinite leave to remain in the UK. |  |
