The brand new MSc Sustainable Land Management under Global Change programme is a course that has been designed to tackle modern and relevant issues surrounding global ecosystems, the natural environment and climate change. 
 
The clear directive is to prepare the next generation of postgraduate students with the appropriate knowledge and skills to operate effectively in a multidisciplinary working environment. This new course will embrace the principles and values presented in both global and national policy and guidelines and takes on board the concept of “think globally, act locally”.
What modules are covered in the course?
 
The course covers a number of contemporary core modules including: 

* Managing for Sustainable Environments 
* Landscape Ecology and Eco-system Services 
* Adaptive Land Use and Human Well-being 
* Environmental Policy and Leadership   
 
How long is the course?
 
Students are able to study on either a part-time or full-time basis. 

Part-time study takes two years to complete. 
Full-time study takes one year to complete.
 
What are the key features?
 
There a various key features for this courses, which greatly enhance the students learning experience. These include: 

* Creating sustainable solutions to environmental problems 
* A strong sector-based learning experience underpinned by applied collaborative research 
* Working on national and international live case studies 
Opportunities to carry out research abroad with partner institutes 
* Joint field trip to the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve, Ukraine with masters students from our partner Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development in Germany 
* Opportunities to undertake the Writtle Skills programme in Project Planning and Leadership
Facilities and accommodation
 
The on-campus halls of residence for postgraduate students are closely located to key facilities including the on-campus library, restaurant and teaching resources.
